Forget your little black book, this red book will give you all of the relationship advice you need!
Ladies, this book is the ultimate relationship guide. Unlike many other self-help books, author Stephanie Rockey does not preach or ramble. She is succinct and to the point, offering you the advice you need, but don’t always want to hear.
To write the book, Stephanie, a relationship expert and the founder and president of True Life Partners, a personal introduction and search company, interviewed hundreds of clients – both men and women – using a 388-question survey. Her results showed (not shockingly) that women tend to take a passive stance and wait for love to come to them. Then, they wonder why nothing is happening.
“Someone has to say it – women live in a fantasy world,” says Rockey. “Women create in their heads the perfect scenario of how they want their life to be – perfect man, perfect relationship, perfect life. Women set themselves up for failure from minute one. No man lives up to these expectations, and in turn, women aren’t happy with the men in their life.”
Ladies Listen Up! tries to break women of these habits in each of its 16 chapters. Each chapter focuses on one specific aspect of life, covering everything from men and children to diet and health. Stephanie’s aim is to “give you guidance on not only what you are doing wrong, but also how to make positive changes that will lead a successful life and relationship.” Her advice includes:
- “Communicate verbally with men by being direct and to the point;”
- “To neglect, or withhold sex from your partner, especially after you have a child, will negatively affect all aspects of communication in your relationship – you must ‘make time’ to continue your sexual relationship after children;”
- “The best-kept secret may be that a woman’s worst enemy is often other women.”
